Q + A

WHEN SHOULD WE ARRIVE, AND WHEN SHOULD WE DEPART?

We suggest arriving on Thursday and departing either Sunday evening or Monday.

The drive from San Francisco to Switzer Farm is almost 4 hours and especially for those also flying, it can be a big travel day.

Group activities and opportunities to connect begin Friday midday and finish Sunday around 1pm. See the Itinerary page for an up to date schedule of events planned for the weekend.

For those staying Sunday night, we'll relax at the Beach Sunday afternoon and into the evening.

I NEED A RIDE TO WESTPORT. IS THERE A CARPOOL AVAILABLE?

We encourage you to carpool and pick up a new friend on your way to our wedding!

If you are needing a ride or have space in your vehicle, please list your contact info and the details in the carpool spreadsheet.

Reach out directly to those offering/needing rides, and please update the sheet if you've found a match.

If you need assistance, you're welcome to reach out to us directly.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE, AND HOW SHOULD WE DRESS FOR IT?

The weather on the California coast is always changing. Mornings are foggy and the fog usually burns off by noon. Depending on the microclimate you are in, it may roll back in late afternoon. Daily high temps will be 60-70 degrees. We will have outdoor heaters for the evenings.

Rain is very unlikely in June.

Bring layers so you're ready for all of it and comfortable throughout: a shawl, coat, scarf, pantyhose, wool socks, a hat, leggings -- whatever works for you!

WHAT IS THE WEDDING ATTIRE?

We are aesthetic creatures and would love to see you sparkle under the sun and stars! Please indulge us by making a fantastically fun fashion statement.

We invite you to play with interpreting this theme however is right for you and have made an inspiration board to get some ideas flowing.

If the style prompt causes more stress than fun, please do reach out to us for style advice. You can choose not to participate, but we reserve the right to bedazzle you as we see fit.

Wedding attire is formal, though we still suggest wearing comfortable shoes. We will be in a rugged and natural part of the California coast in a field with rocks and uneven ground and walking on dirt and gravel paths. Plus we want you to be able to dance!

WHAT ABOUT FOOD AND DRINKS?

Dinner and drinks will be provided on Friday and Saturday evenings and brunch and coffee on Sunday.

For the rest, keep in mind that Westport is a tiny, one-street town in a remote part of the California Coast. There’s Sirens Café for coffee (only weekend mornings) and a single restaurant in the Westport Hotel (only weekends for dinner), and that’s it!

Fort Bragg, 25 minutes to the south, is a charming town with more amenities including a variety of restaurants, a small grocery store, pharmacy, gas, etc.

We recommend picking up some groceries on your drive from the Bay Area. Some markets we love along the way include:

- Bi-rite Market in San Francisco

- Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco

- Good Earth in Mill Valley

- Oliver's Market in Santa Rosa

- Harvest Market at Mendosa's in Mendocino
